The Cutter Morning Star School District, located east of Hot
Springs on Hwy. 70 consists of an
elementary school (Pre-K—6) and high
school (7—12).
Part of the district lies within
the city and part outside.
The district’s boundaries are
within Garland
County and are adjacent to the Hot Springs, Lakeside, Fountain
Lake and Benton school districts.
Enrollment has increased and is currently
720.
Projections show that Hot Springs will
experience growth toward the east, so
Cutter Morning Star expects a continued
increase. Statistics
show that over 75 percent of each
graduating class has been attending the
district for five years or more – a good
indicator of community stability.
Over the last seven years the district has remodeled and
constructed much of the campus.
They have also taken great strides
in the technology area, adding computer
labs in the elementary and the high
school, setting up a computerized library
operation and connecting to the statewide
school computer network.
Classroom instruction centers on statewide
guidelines and students needs and smaller
classes allow more time for student’s
needs.
Arkansas Business & Economic Review
showed the students in the top 15 percent
in Arkansas in math and literacy scores.

The Fountain
Lake School
District serves an area of
185 square miles and is located north and
east of the city of
Hot Springs.
It operates as an independent
district and educates students from K-12
grade.
The district believes that a
strong foundation in academic excellence
can be maintained through technology,
highly qualified educators, a rigorous
curriculum of studies, and diverse
extra-curricular activities.
Instructional software programs are
used to supplement the curriculum at all
grade levels.

students Pre-School – 12th grades, Jessieville School district began a rich history of
excellence in 1937.
Today the district, nestled in the
Ouachita Mountains, serve
students in a 203 square mile radius with
up-to-date facilities including science
and computer labs and a 1200 seat sports
complex.
With a student –staff ratio of 7-1, the
district has consistently performed above
the state average on standardized tests.
The needs of all students are met
through gifted and talented programs,
remediation classes, vocational/technical
programs, and special education services.
Art and music are offered at all

The Lakeside
School District is one of seven K-12
independent school districts in
Garland
County. The district
serves an area of 61 square miles and is
located around the city of Hot Springs, which
supports a population of approximately
40,000. Much of the district surrounds
Lakes Hamilton and Catherine. The area is
ideal for recreational camping and water
sports. The newly-expanded Hot Springs Convention Center
and the
Garland
County
Community College
contribute to educational and cultural
activities.
Lakeside
School District is proud,
once again, to be named one of the top ten
school districts in the state of
Arkansas. Our
district was ranked fourth and chosen for
the 2006-07 Golden Apple Award, based on
scores from state-mandated testing. On
these tests, Lakeside scores are higher in every grade than state
averages. As well, in the high school,
ACT scores are higher than both state and

Mountain Pine School District (K-12) referred to by some in higher
education as the “hidden gem of
Garland
County,” is located in the Ouachita Mountains and on the banks of Lakes Hamilton and
Ouachita.
The District’s faculty and staff provide

students. The district offers a relatively
low pupil to teacher ratio with

Mountain Pine students regularly exceed

(ASMSA) is the premier high school in the

The Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center
(HSRC) is a component of Arkansas
Rehabilitation Services (ARS) that
consists of two sections, the Hot Springs Rehabilitation
Center
Hospital
and the Arkansas Career Training Institute
(ACTI).
As a comprehensive rehabilitation center,
HSRC offers programs in evaluation
assessment, vocational adjustment,
employability skills training, medical
services, vocational training, counseling
and support services such as recreation,
placement and adult basic education.
Any student seeking enrollment must
be sponsored by an Arkansas Rehabilitation
Services Field Office.
Vocational training programs
include auto collision repair, auto parts
man, auto maintenance tech, building
trades, business education, certified
nursing attendant, cosmetology,
environmental system services, food
services, marketing & sales, printing,
small engine repair, welding, etc.
All programs are ongoing in nature
and the length of each course is based on
students meeting specified educational and

Park Community College, nestled in the Ouachita Mountains,
located in
Mid-America Park, just outside Hot Springs city limits.
NPCC averages approximately 3,000 credit students per
semester enrolled in college courses
blending liberal arts with occupational
education to prepare students to enter the
workforce or transfer to a four-year
institution. Over 2,000 students a year
also enroll in a wide range of non-credit
and continuing education services provided
by the Community Services/Continuing
Education Program and Corporate Training
Division. These include customized
workforce training for business and
industry, on-site courses for the
hospitality and tourism industry, on
campus computer classes, online classes,
and various professional development
workshops.
The National Park Technology Center is a secondary area
career and technology center that serves
public schools in the Garland County area, available to junior and
senior high students. Program offerings
are two years in length and second year
students have the opportunity to
participate in job shadowing and
apprenticeship activities. Instruction in
seven areas offered by the center prepares
students for entry-level employment and
provides the foundation for further
education.
As a
comprehensive community college, NPCC
offers a broad general education
curriculum and support services for all
students as a basis for transfer, further
study, professional specialization, and
personal enrichment; pre-college
coursework to prepare students for
academic success; a variety of technical
and professional programs to prepare
students for career experiences;
continuing education and workforce
training opportunities to meet community
needs and personal interests. NPCC's
academic programs are designed for
students who plan to earn a two-year
Associate Degree or the one-year Technical
Certificate leading to employment, as well
as for those who plan to transfer to
four-year colleges and universities.
