Sewer Rates 2004
Base Rate* - $8.78 Inside
City/$12.23 Outside City (includes first
1,000 gallons)
$2.67 Inside City/$3.72 Outside City
- rate per each 1,000 gallons
after base.
*Base rate listed is for 5/8” residential
meter size. For pricing on
other meter sizes, contact the Sewer
Department.
The
Following is an example of billing:
Meter reading = 12,000 gallons
This figure is multiplied by 88% in
order to adjust for the fact that
all water entering through the water meter
does not return to the
sewer system.
Adjusted Reading = 10,560 gallons.
From this figure the 1,000 gallons
included in the base rate are
subtracted.
Additional gallons used over the first 1,000
gallons = 9,460 gallons.
This figure is then multiplied by .00267
(City) to arrive at the
charge for usage over the first 1,000
gallons = $25.36.
The
base rate of $8.78 (City) is then added to
this figure, yielding
the final monthly charge for sewer use.
Residential and Commercial/Industrial
Customers are charged according to the same
rate.
Total billing amount = $34.03.
